Evelyn Wendel

FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Evelyn Wendel founded WeTap in 2008 to improve appreciation, access and use of public drinking fountains as a means to reduce dependence on single use plastic waste, to improve public health and well-being and to help eliminate the economic and environmental disparities caused by mistrusting public drinking water. WeTap developed the first technology globally to map and access drinking fountains and filling stations. WeTap initiated the launch of Tap Water Day in 2015 with the CA State Resource Control Board, LADWP and Mayor Eric Garcetti. Tap Water Day has since expanded throughout California. She Chairs the Safe to Drink Work Group for the State of California, which is the only website dedicated to drinking water for CA. Prior to devoting her energy to WeTap, Evelyn worked at Paramount Pictures for over 10 years in feature marketing, development and production, worked on many films and produced the documentary “The Spirit in Architecture: John Lautner”.
